Outstanding cooperation partner
During the "LivingKitchen" trade fair, the "Der Kreis Anja Schaible Stiftung" foundation awarded the foundation prize to universities in Furtwangen and Wismar. We were also recognised for the technical support and positive willingness to provide the funds required in order to realise such foundation projects as “The kitchen of tomorrow” and develop ideas further to the stage of functional prototypes.
The aim of "The Kitchen of Tomorrow" study project was to find out more about the conceptions and needs that people associate with the kitchen as a space to live in. Students from the Applied Health Sciences in Furtwangen analysed the eating habits as well as the significance of the kitchen today and in the future. Various life styles and their effects on the requirements for kitchen design were identified. Together with students from the University of Wismar specialising in design and structural composition, four cooking types were identified from the results with the aim of developing new kitchen ideas. With our support, the students were able to design a kitchen for the cooking type “casual cookers”: The result is the attention-grabbing concept of mobile service butler and basic station. Of particular interest to us during the exhibition was the question whether such changes to the furniture design, functions and mobility approach is of interest to commerce, manufacturers and end consumers.
