FurnSpin throws away the rulebook on cabinet design by revealing or concealing the contents of furniture with a simple 180-degree rotational movement. For FurnSpin to be a workable reality required perfected kinematics to prevent any collision with furniture edges and to cancel out centrifugal force so that even light objects stay put.

In an age when fitted furniture can be superficially similar, Alku designs and crafts for the best possible customer experience based on lasting quality. So when FurnSpin by Hettich crossed their path, it was an obvious match.

“The idea of FurnSpin really appealed to us but seeing it in action got us hooked,” said Dan Hughes, Marketing Director at Alku and its parent company Getley UK.

“We knew that potential customers would have the same engaging experience in a retail environment, creating that emotional connection which is hard to put a price on. FurnSpin not only dovetails with our brand values but offers the wow factor and differentiation that is essential, particularly for independent retailers, in a crowded but often flat market.”

“FurnSpin is the showroom centrepiece, and source of pride to the retailer thanks to its exclusivity and impact,” said Hettich UK Head of Marketing Jonathan Hunt. “It opens the conversation about everything which surrounds it.”

Raised stakes in storage

Urbanisation has raised the stakes in storage. Smaller homes mean bigger demand for intelligent storage solutions which increase the flexibility of how space is used. FurnSpin not only maximizes the accessibility of the volume it occupies but also facilitates a change of mood for different times of the day in areas of the home with multiple functions.

While consumers seek inspiration and innovation, their desire for value and sustainability means they want their purchases to last longer. “You only have to experience FurnSpin to appreciate that it’s built to last thanks to its German precision engineering,” concluded Dan. “This is not only a storage solution, but also a story, and one we’re excited to tell.”

FurnSpin will be featured on Hettich UK’s stand at KBB Birmingham 2026
