| In the best tradition, our history goes back to an inventor, Karl Hettich, who found a better way of making parts for cuckoo clocks and set up a small company in the Black Forest in 1888. In 1930, the next generation took the enterprising decision to set up a new company in east Westphalia, even then a centre of furniture manufacturing in Germany. Since 1966, company headquarters have been in Kirchlengern. Today the company is again wholly owned by the Hettich family.
As Hettich International, the company has evolved into a diversified company group operating chiefly in the furniture sector. Hallmarks of the Hettich brand are quality, innovation and customer orientation.
The Hettich Group employs around 5500 people worldwide and generates annual turnover of over 700 million euros. Our customers are furniture manufacturers, artisan producers, fittings dealers and DIY and home improvement stores. Our production facilities are located in North and South America, Europe and Asia. With 36 subsidiaries and partner agencies, Hettich is close to its customers in more than 100 countries around the world.
