All students, who planned to start training after school, and their families were invited to join this event. Many students took advantage of this opportunity and attended “Open Day” in Hettich`s Training Centre. After being welcomed with drinks and snacks, the students had the chance to find out more about commercial and technical training programs provided by Hettich. 

Hettich offered the visitors a tour through production hall A8, in order to give them an idea of the product range and the production processes. This tour was highly appreciated by many visitors.

In preparatory meetings the current commercial trainees prepared information boards and presentations which contained information about different professions, duration of training, internships abroad and some tips on the topic: "How do I apply for a job correctly?"

Only one highlight of this day was the short film which deals with the important topic "interview”. In a joint project current trainees from both the commercial and technical field made this film with the aid of “Filmhaus Bielefeld”, in order to give the future trainees an insight into the way such an interview can proceed.

The technical trainees had prepared themselves for “Open Day” as well and opened the doors to their apprentice workshop. Visitors had the chance to take a closer look at the diverse tasks of different technical trainings. To these technical trainings also belonged the profession “design draughtsman/-woman” connected with the engineering education. This special training was described to the students by a current trainee who gave them some insights into the diverse tasks and responsibilities of her training program.

On this day, the students had also the opportunity to get to know the training managers and have a conversation with them. Altogether, “Open Day” proved to be a huge success for Hettich as well as for the current trainees and hopefully also for all students who plan to apply for training at Hettich.
