On August 1st, 2008, 34 new trainees started their professional training in the Hettich Group. “We are glad to offer a professional training and the chance to get their career started to so many young people. The great interest in the Hettich Group shows us that our company is appreciated and considered as an attractive employer in this region", said the managing partner Dr. Andreas Hettich.in his welcoming speech in Kirchlengern.

Ten of the 34 new trainees are starting a commercial career. They will be trained as industrial business management assistants, as a business woman in wholesale and export sale and as a salesman for logistics and transport services. Hettich also cooperates with universities. Three students from the University of Applied Sciences (FHDW), who study to gain the degree of Bachelor of Arts in International Business or Bachelor of Science in Applied Computer Science, will complete their practical trainings in the Hettich Group.

18 new trainees have decided to start a technical career. They will be trained as mechatronics technicians, as electronic technicians, as industrial mechanics, as precision mechanics and as mechanical engineers for industrial tool. Three trainees are pursuing a cooperative engineer education; they will do their training in the Hettich Group and their studies at the University of Applied Sciences, Bielefeld, at the same time. 

On the first day the new trainees got to know each other and their employer. Later, in the company orientation the young people were given specific information about the Hettich Group. The company orientation included an insight in the company structure, an overview of the wide product range of Hettich as well as information about what to expect in the upcoming training.

Hettich complements the dual training by internal and external training courses. For the company it is not only important to impart the required know-how, but also to impart methods competence and social competence. With 2,600 employees Hettich is the biggest private employer in the region around Herford. Statistics prove the great effort that Hettich puts in giving young people a highly qualified training. The Hettich Group has trained young people for more than 57 years. During that period of time more than 1,200 people completed successfully their training. At this moment there are 130 trainees in the Hettich Group, which clearly shows the company`s dedication for industrial trainings.
