The idea of participation was generated spontaneously during the Run & Roll Day in Bielefeld in 2007. We wanted to represent Hettich in a positive manner in this race also. This plan became a reality and found 12 participants soon by word of mouth propaganda. If you think that it is not all that difficult to get 12 participants for a public race, you should know the following about the Hermann race. Its path lies across the Teutoburger forest, goes over and over the area; nearly 31 km with people, who are enthusiastic about running. Enthusiasts registered themselves at Strothmann, ONI and Paul Hettich. Two teams were soon created for the trials.

There were four training races to be completed. As this was not familiar to all the participants, we had lots of fun and found it very interesting. Each could set his own tempo as per Contributed by Rainer Weichelt, kitchen system fittings technology, Paul Hettich Kirchlengern individual performance standards. To be worthy representatives of our employers, we wore jerseys with the Hettich logo. There were some interesting situations which came to light only through the Hettich nameplate. Our runners were asked whether they had arrived specifically from Berlin, as many questions were asked by people from Berlin and knew the HUT plant there. We were also very happy to see our colleagues, who cheered us along the way. Hettich won the 27th and 84th position from among 107 teams. Due to the extremely good weather, there were thousands of enthusiasts on the way, a superb atmosphere.

A few days later, when there were fewer aching muscles, some participants were already discussing the next year’s race. If you are interested, you are welcome to register yourself for Hermann race 2009. We would like to see the positive outcome of this participation.
