| On 24th April 20 young girls between 13 and 15 years experienced the world of work with us at Hettich in Kirchlengern. We introduced career choices that are seldom considered by young girls. The aim is always, to overcome gender stereotypes and to explain, that a technical profession is a good pre requisite for imparting motivation and increasing social competence and is definitely worth giving a thought.
The Girls'Day started with a presentation on the Hettich group and a tour of the Logistics Centre, where the girls experienced the multi faceted interconnections between goods movement. The importance of work safety was imparted by a fire safety demo, during which the guests were also permitted to handle a fire extinguisher. Typical work processes were introduced with the help of interesting team activities and motivated the girls to deal with the idea of a career in technology more intensively.
At this point we heartily thank everyone who supported and facilitated this endeavour. I hope we can conduct such an event in the next year also. |
