| Interdisciplinary cooperation is the formula for success. As early as possible, we bring together all the teams involved in creating value.
The design of the R&D facility emphasizes the key importance of interdisciplinary teamwork. The functional, open-plan, process-oriented office layout and furniture lets the teams from Development, Work Preparation, Marketing and Sales work closely together in the same space. This work environment was planned to promote teamwork. It's an important factor in Hettich's ability to generate product innovations that closely match market requirements. Our international approach is a cornerstone of the concept. State-of-the-art video conference systems provide fast connections to our worldwide operating subsidiaries for co-operative problem solving. This makes sure that international market requirements are integrated into the solution process early on. |
Innovative office concept: the aims
It's common knowledge that a positive work environment and good contact with colleagues increase motivation and performance. The offices have been furnished with this in mind. Some areas have been set aside as creative areas; they provide space—at one remove from the other work processes—for brainstorming and discussion. It's the ideal launching pad for visions of future product generations.

Innovative office concept: the implementation
Openness and short communication lines are the hallmarks of the new large, open-plan office, where the Development, Work Preparation, Marketing and Sales teams work together. Managers don't have special status, instead they share the office space with the other employees. The furniture, the use of space, the colours and materials were based on input from the people who were going to work there. All the furniture can be moved easily, so that the office layout depends on the current organizational structure and not the other way round. Hettich people "test" their own fittings systems every day under realistic working conditions. All work is process orientated: from development to sales and marketing.
