| Beata Lasota
My career began in the 1990s. At this time, in Poland, there was increasing foreign investment and new companies were being set up and expanding. The new companies were looking for young people who were fluent in foreign languages.
I was at work one day when my phone rang and the caller asked whether I would be interested in a job with the Hettich Group. By training I’m a textile engineer, but Hettich was more interested in my other skills. To cut a long story short, I accepted the offer.
When I started with Hettich, I was surprised to find that I was the first woman in the function of managing director. In the early years, management conferences tended to begin like this: "Mrs Lasota and Gentlemen ...". I must have been a good role model, because there are now several women in responsible positions at Hettich Polska.
I will always consider that my biggest achievement has been to build up a very good team at Hettich Polska. The Hettich Polska team is made up of young, competent people who are enthusiastic and committed. Working with people like this, it’s been possible to grow the company continuously and to reach some very ambitious targets.
I’m someone who loves a challenge, and working in the Hettich Group gives me ample opportunity to tackle interesting tasks. I take part in international projects, in ongoing projects to improve efficiency and the way we organize our work, and in other challenging projects. I’m always aware that it’s important also to think outside the box.
I enjoy working at Hettich and I find the conditions under which I work very satisfactory.
