Process mechanic (plastics and rubber)

An apprenticeship at Hettich

Process mechanics are important specialists in production. Manufacturing high-quality plastics products depends on operators with a comprehensive understanding of the materials and how they are processed.

Job description:
During your apprenticeship as a process mechanic you will gain a broad basic knowledge of modern injection moulding technology, including the hydraulic and pneumatic systems and control and monitoring systems. You'll also get a broad basic training in various skills including manual and automated milling and processing of metals and plastics.

Your job will include:
- Commissioning machines
- Measuring, controlling and adjusting
  manufacturing processes
- Checking and documenting quality


Duration and certification:
3 1/2 years, Chamber of Industry and Commerce certificate

Additional measures:
- In-house schooling
- External and internal lectures
- Regular progress review and coaching by the
  chief instructor

Educational requirements
Secondary school leaving certificate

Personal requirements
- Manual skills
- Interest in mathematics, chemistry and physics
- Responsible attitude
- Independent and reliable
- Team skills
