Job description: Mechatronic mechanics work on mechanical parts and build mechanical/electronic systems. You'll assemble electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical components, connect up the power supply and install hardware and software.
You'll program the finished system, troubleshoot it and get it operating smoothly. You'll also become familiar with using and servicing systems already installed, tracing and remedying faults.
As a qualified mechatronic mechanic you'll be working independently in compliance under relevant operating procedures and health and safety standards as well as co-ordinating your work with processes situated before and after your work. Quite often you will be working in a team.

Duration and certification: 3 1/2 years with the option of shorter time
