Fittings for over 1000 villas
Palm Jumeirah: Moving into the "eighth wonder of the world"
Dubai is one of the world's largest construction sites. It is estimated that this is where around a quarter of all cranes existing world-wide are doing their work. One of the most gigantic projects is "The Palm", three man-made islands - "The Palm Jebel Ali", "The Palm Jumeirah" and "The Palm Deira", which is also being marketed at the "eighth wonder of the world", and will add several hundred kilometres to the Emirate of Dubai's coastline by 2010. With its apartments and villas now completed, "The Palm Jumeirah" is the first of the islands that is ready for occupation. Hettich was shown to be a reliable partner in fitting out over 1,000 villas. The villas, finished in the styles "Mediterranean", "Arabesque", "Colonial" and "Balinese", are equipped with a basic set of interior fittings. The interior designers responsible commissioned Hettich to supply the hardware for over 1,000 premises. "As a commitment to quality" is how Yahia Elgizawi, Project Business Manager at Hettich FurnTech, interprets the decision in favour of the German fittings specialist. "Our manufacturing expertise and our professional service not only left the interior design companies without a doubt, but also the architects responsible." One important condition of being selected as a supplier for the luxury villas was fast assembly on site. In this context, Hettich FurnTech also created a sophisticated packaging and delivery concept to ensure that the fittings we delivered to this gigantic construction site were available exactly where they were needed. Each of the villas received the exact quantity of fittings it required. In addition, the packaging clearly showed the point of installation in the particular building.
